You know you’re a blogoholic when…

…you find a chair like this comfortable.

Blogger Chair

This isn’t me, but for some weird reason I almost wish it was. A close look at the picture reveals the fact that he really is enjoying his chair. It doesn’t seem to bother him one bit that it looks like he’s about to pilot a shuttle into space.

All good things do eventually come to an end unfortunately.

From his blog:

“It’s a sad day. The chair I’ve had for over 9 years now has died. It had an ability to keep my body in an almost horizontal position (which I got used to) without breaking.

To be honest I swear by this position. Screw doctors that tell you to sit upright, I have sat in this position for many years and my back is fine.

The chair has been creaking for a long time now, well 9 years to be honest, and a few weeks back a couple of bolts snapped, I dutifully replaced them and tightened everything up. Although the sound of wood cracking was of course ignored. I somehow knew the end was near as things where never quite as stable after that, I am sure I was even more horizontal than normal! A couple of weeks later, I was wheeling myself about the office, throwing my dog Rubin’s toys about. And without warning the chair folded sideways. I was left on the floor looking at the chair as it lay on its side but with the roller wheels still firmly on the ground. I straightened everything back up and refused to give up on it. One bit of metal support might have been broken but there was still another left (good enough for another five years surely?) I sat on it for the rest of that night quite happily. We did it for old time’s sake.”

  1. I have a new chair now :) I still haven’t managed to throw out my old one yet, I had some small hope of welding it back together but alas I had to keep watch on my shuttles :)
