I have a site hosted locally and every so often I’ll get an instant message from the admin saying something like

Anyone else have people using lol and other slang totally inappropriately?
lol is definitely overused, also by people who hardly crack a smile.
lolZ annoys me as well.
Have you ever met anyone who has been rolling on the floor laughing their ass off? I wonder how many ROFLTAO before the internet came about, probably very few.

Actually, my husband sits and roars with laughter at the television – only certain programs. But yes, usually you think “it wasn’t THAT funny”
